Menu Search Function Issue

When the Search menu function is used Environment, no items are displayed V12.03 Onwards

To see menu search results, the Build Function Search Data report must first be run.

  1. The report can be found here on the menu by accessing the System

  2. Then click System Setup

  3. Select Build Function Search Data

  4. This report produces the data upon which the menu search results are derived.

  5. The Build Function Search Data report takes permissions from the user defined in the System Parameter: SVCUSER.

  6. SVCUSER parameter contains the user value: svcuser

  7. The solution is to set the SY parameter SVCUSERS (not SVCUSER) to the following value: syumsf02=sysadmin

  8. By doing so, this forces the Build Function Search Data report to use sysadmin and avoids permissions issues.

  9. Set the SVCUSERS parameter as described above and then run the Build Function Search Data report and then test the Menu Search.
