Due to changes in main menu security, you may encounter issues when going live with the Service Pack. It is therefore imperative that you review the Service Pack in a non-live environment before going live.

To load a Service Pack to your system, you must do so in chronological order (for instance, if the November Service Pack was the last one installed, you must install the December Service Pack next).

Before you have the Service Pack installed in live, remember that: (1) you first need to test it against a copy of live, which should be the same version as your live environment, and (2) you need to check your custom programs, if you have any, to see if the Service Pack will affect your custom functions and reports.

Installing a Service Pack into a LIVE environment should only be done when users are out of Coins to ensure the integrity of the system. Installing programs with active users can cause errors to occur. To avoid such errors, there is a Delay Fix Deployment option available in coinsadmin to schedule new programs to be deployed after hours.

Clients on v12.03 who install the Feb-24 Service Pack also need to install fix v1203-5120 if they use the Combined Aging Report.

Clients who install the Apr-23 Service Pack also need to install a fix:
​v1201-3357, ​v1202-3358 to fix a problem with encyrption of payslips.

UK clients on v12.02 taking the March 23 Service Pack also need to install fix v1202-3201 if they use VAT returns.

An enhancement in the 12.02 VAT report and VAT Return added additional sections for HMRC clawback and relief (Bad Debts aged items over 6 months) – this has now been removed and previous VAT report and VAT Return functionality been restored. The enhancement will be reviewed and retested for a later release.

The July 2024 Service Packs include an important security fix. We recommend all clients on v12.03 install fix v1203-5774 and all clients on v12.02 install fix v1202-5773.
