The Fixes Administration workbench lets a system administrator manage the fixes for an environment from within the Coins ERP+ user interface. It provides selected capability from COINSAdmin, specifically the ability to download fixes from the central server and to install (and uninstall) them on the environment.
In Coins ERP+ v12.04, Fixes Administration is mainly used for installing urgent fixes issued between the regular maintenance updates.
Fixes Administration is also available in Coins ERP+ v12.03, where it can also be used to install service packs.
A script downloads the fix files into the repository in COINSAdmin. It is expected that this script will be configured to run every night so that all fixes will be automatically available in COINSAdmin. You can then use Fixes Administration to select which fixes to install in the environment; Fixes Administration then copies the fix from the repository to the environment.
If you need a fix more rapidly, perhaps a critical fix just created, you can run the Load Fixes option to run the fixes synchronisation at a date and time you request.
To install fixes
Go to Fixes Administration.
Select one or more fixes from the browse.
In the action menu, choose Install Fixes and click Apply Action (
).
On the Install Fixes screen, enter the Date and Time you want the fixes to be installed.
The same checks are performed as in COINSAdmin so that for example service packs must be installed cumulatively. The Check field shows any warnings.
The install process will be run at the date and time you specify. A Unix job is created for this which you can view and cancel if required.
To uninstall fixes
Go to Fixes Administration.
Select the fixes you want to uninstall.
In the action menu, choose Uninstall Fixes and click Apply Action.
Queued jobs
To view queued Unix jobs, choose Queued Jobs from the Options menu in Fixes Administration.
To delete a queued job, tick the Delete box and click Next.
