Resources

Updated over 3 months ago

The amount of resource available for a given trade in a given timeslot will depend on the number of operatives who engage in that trade. As operatives are assigned to jobs, the amount of available resource will decrease.

When the resource allocated to a timeslot reaches a certain percentage of the resource available, the scheduling screen for that trade shows the timeslot as "busy" (so help desk users should avoid making appointments for that timeslot). When the resource allocated reaches a second percentage, the scheduling screen for that trade shows the timeslot as "unavailable" (so help desk users cannot make appointments for that timeslot).

In order to allow for busy periods or specific working patterns for individual trades, you can reduce the amount of resource that is available for scheduling in a given timeslot.

This does not affect the actual amount of resource, but means that the timeslot will show busy or unavailable at a lower percentage; this means, for example, that the remaining resource can be allocated to emergency jobs.

To set the weekly resource patterns for a contract:

  1. Open the contract in contracts.

  2. Select FM Contract Setup tab.

  3. Select the Operational Setup tab group then select Resource.

  4. For each trade you want to use on the contract and against each timeslot, click.

  5. For each day, enter the percentage of resource to make available for appointments.

    • Enter 100 to allow all resource to be booked.

    • Enter a lower percentage to reserve resource for the timeslot.

  6. Click.

To reserve resource on a particular day:

  1. Go to Resource Summary and set the filter to show the contract and date you want to reserve resource for.

  2. For the trade and timeslot you want to reserve resource for, click.

  3. Enter the actual amount of time you want to make available for appointments.

  4. Click.
