Coins Document Uploader – Coins ERP+ configuration

Updated over a month ago

Some configuration on Coins ERP+ is required to allow Coins Document Uploader to work.

Coins Document Uploader must be installed on Windows 10 or newer, and Windows Server 2016 or newer.

Parameters

The DM parameters mentioned below affect the behaviour of the Coins Document Uploader.

Check in period

The Coins Document Uploader can be set to periodically send a check-in message. Use the parameter DMHEARTBEAT to select the frequency of the check in message using the combo box.

When the set period has elapsed, the Coins Document Uploader will send a message back to Coins ERP+ to confirm that the process is still active.

Sleep

As the remote service is not running as part of Coins ERP+, it needs to know when the system may be down for maintenance. So, the DMNETSLEEP parameter can set a period that the remote server will not attempt a connection to Coins ERP+. The parameter value consists of two times, using the 24-hour clock:

  • The first is the start of the sleep period. After this period the remote monitor will no longer send check in messages to Coins ERP+.

  • The second is the time at which the remote monitor will again start sending message back to Coins ERP+.

For example, if this is set to 20:00 06:40, the monitor will enter sleep at 8pm, and wake again at 6:40am. During the sleep period, no attempt will be made to connect to Coins ERP+.

The service can also be set to not communicate on a Saturday or Sunday. The parameter DMNETSATSUN can be set to set the days at the weekend that Coins ERP+ may not be available to communicate back to.

Network Scanner Locations

Network Scanner Locations allows you to set up the directories that networked scanners will scan into. Coins Document Uploader will monitor the locations specified in the Local Path field, and will load any new documents found there to the location specified by the corresponding Server Path field.

The Status field indicates the status of the link between the Coins Document Uploader and Coins ERP+, using a traffic light system:

Indicates there is a problem that needs to be investigated.

Indicates that the connection is or was working but a problem may have occurred.

Indicates that the interface is active and does not require any attention.

A tooltip on the Local Path field gives a summary of the information available on the monitor screen, including the most recent error, and the number of documents uploaded since the service started, the number uploaded during the current session, and the number uploaded today.

Local path limitation

If you want to use a network shared directory or a mapped drive as the Local Path, the local system account cannot access this, so you need to use a specified account.

  1. In the monitor screen, click the Settings button.

    The Services window opens.

  2. Right-click the name of the service for the Coins ERP+ environment.

  3. On the Properties dialogue, click the Log On tab.

  4. Select This account.

    Service Properties dialogue

  5. Browse for the account to use, enter the password and click OK.
