Extend or reduce how long report records are stored

Extend or reduce the time(in days) COINS report records are kept in the system for. This uses Print Manager Parameter GENHIST to keep historic reports for as short as a day or as long as 90 days.

In the menu tree go to:

  1. System > Print Manager > Setup > PM Parameters

  2. Search for GENHIST as the ID

Figure 1: Locating GENHIST parameter

PM/GENHIST - Days of Generation History:
The number of days that report generation history (co_rptstatus) records are kept. These are records that store information on when and how a report is to be run. Report output files (for example, PDF files) are also deleted when the history record is deleted.

Open GENHIST parameter using the Folder icon and change the value to the desired number of days that COINS stores report records for.

  • It is recommended that the GENHIST parameter does not exceed a larger value than 90 days, as storing the records of reports for this long, will consume storage space on COINS database.

Note: The programs that use this parameter consult the date of the record or file. For example, if set to 1, files or records dated on or before the day before the current date will be removed, so if the program is run at 23:59 on 1-Jan-23, anything dated on or before 31-Dec-22 will be removed; if run two minutes later at 00:01 on 2-Jan-23, anything dated on or before 1-Jan-23 will be removed.
