The pay calculation assesses whether employees are to be enrolled automatically, and generates the appropriate notification records. The notifications can then be processed using the Notification Report or from the Notification browse.
If the employee is not normally working in UK, or has a future deferred until date, or future opted out until date, Coins ERP+ takes no action.
If the employee already belongs to a qualifying scheme, Coins ERP+ generates an EWEM (Existing Member Information) notification for them.
Otherwise Coins ERP+ assesses their pay and age to determine if they are entitled, ineligible or eligible.
If they are ineligible, Coins ERP+ generates an EWNJ (Non-Eligible Jobholder) notification for the employee.
If they are entitled, Coins ERP+ generates an EWE (Entitled Worker) notification for the employee.
If they are eligible, Coins ERP+ uses the rules for deferment (specified by the parameter AEDEFRUL) to determine their enrolment date.
If they are deferred Coins ERP+ creates an EWP (Postponement) notification which will be sent to the employee.
Employees who are deferred will be re-assessed when they reach the end of the deferral.
If an eligible employee is not deferred, or they reach the deferred enrolment date, they will be automatically enrolled. When the employee is enrolled Coins ERP+ creates a pension scheme entry for them, and generates:
An EWNM (New Member Information ? Employee) notification for the employee.
An EPNM (New Member Information ? Pension Provider) notification for the pension provider.
Coins ERP+ also generates an undated notification:
If the scheme is a personal pension scheme, Coins ERP+ generates a PWTC (Pension Terms and Conditions) notification; when you find out that the employee has received the terms and conditions from the pension provider, you should fill in the Received date.
If the scheme is not a personal pension scheme, Coins ERP+ generates a PEMA (Membership Active) notification; when you find out that the employee's membership is active, you should fill in the Received date.
If Coins ERP+ cannot determine which scheme to enrol the employee into, then an error will be raised and the employee will not be calculated. You will have to select which pension to assign the employee before you can calculate them. We would anticipate most users will have a single auto-enrolment pension nominated by parameter and others will specify the scheme to use for auto-enrolment on the employee at set up time, so this would be infrequent.
If an employee has opted-out having paid contributions Coins ERP+ calculates the refund.
The calculation will issue warnings if eligible jobholder contributions are below the percentages specified in the parameters.
