Certain user administration actions can be made available in Portal Users maintenance.
To make the actions available, set the SY parameter ESUSRMNT to Yes. Column sets also become available in Portal Users maintenance when the parameter is set to Yes.
Terminate a Session
The Status column shows whether the user is currently logged in. If you terminate an active session, that user will be forced to log in again.
Select the user.
From the Action menu, select Terminate Session and click Apply Action.
Set a User’s Password as Expired
If you set a user’s password as expired, that user will have to enter a new password next time they try to log in.
Select the user.
From the Action menu, select Set Password as Expired and click Apply Action.
When the confirmation message is displayed, click OK to confirm.
Lock or Unlock a User
If a user’s account is locked, for example because they made too many failed login attempts, you can unlock it. Alternatively, you can lock an account to prevent a user from accessing the portal.
Select the user.
From the Action menu, select Lock/Unlock User and click Apply Action.
When the confirmation message is displayed, click OK to confirm.
The user record will be locked or unlocked, depending on the current status.
Change a User’s Email Address
You can change the email address that is associated with a user record.
Select the user.
From the Action menu, select Change User Email and click Apply Action.
The Change User Email screen appears.
Enter the new email address, tick the Acknowledged box to indicate that you agree to the change, and click Next.
When the confirmation message is displayed, click OK to confirm the change.
An email address on a portal user account that is also identified as a System User in the HR Personnel Workbench can only be updated by a user who has access to User Maintenance.
