Employee Self Service - Tile Selection and Configuration

This section describes ESS Portal customisation capabilities.

ESS PR Portal Tiles

As COINS is asked to expand capabilities of Employee Self Service, we have developed a library of tiles that clients can select from when configuring their Employee Portal.

There is a library of tiles to select from when configuring the Employee Portal. The list of available tiles is found in Employee Self Service > Administration > ESS PR Portal Tiles. The list contains all tiles available for both the Desktop and RUI Version of ESS. The RUI tiles have a tick box indicating they are visible in Phone or Tablet application only. This flag cannot be updated.

RUI Tile Designation

When you open a function, you are presented with a list of regions to which the Tiles can apply. The Regions can be updated and the tile will be visible in ESS. Not all tiles are compatible with all regions.

To restrict a tile from view, simply set the function to Dormant. You will see several iterations of the same type of Tile. Select only one of the tiles for use in ESS for each version – Desktop and RUI.

Tile Configuration

You have the option to select colours and sizes of Portal Tiles. You will need access to Function Maintenance to update the tiles.

Tile Size and Colour

Tiles can be modified to have different sizes, colour, subtitles, etc.

To modify desktop tiles, start by finding *WESPV11* in Function Maintenance. Drill into the function’s Menu Items until you find the function you wish to update.

Select the Tile Group that contains the tiles you want to modify and create a + version.

Drill into the + tile group and update the individual tiles.
