When a user logs in to Coins ERP+ from an IP address they have not logged in from before, Coins ERP+ sends them an email to inform them. This can act as a warning of potential suspicious activity: if they receive an email but have not logged on from a new location, it may be that someone else has logged on to their account.
However, they may also receive the email if their service provider changes their IP address β for example, if they are connecting over WiFi.
Expected IP Addresses
The Expected IPs browse lists the IP addresses that each user has logged in from, and allows you to set up a whitelist of addresses that will not trigger an email β for example, the IP addresses of your offices.
To set a whitelist address:
In Expected IPs, click Add.
Leave the User field blank, and enter the IP address (or range).
Click Save.
When any user logs in from this IP address, even if they have not done so before, they will not receive an email.
Configuring the Email
The email can show a description of the location associated with the IP address, and you can choose how much detail it shows. You will need to subscribe to an IP address lookup service, and obtain a key from them.
In the SY parameter IPLOCURL, enter the URL of the lookup service.
In the SY parameter IPLOCKEY, enter the key provided by the lookup service.
In the SY parameter IPLOCIDS, select which information to include in the email; enter a list of the fields to be extracted from the JSON returned by the lookup service, for example: city,region_name,country_name. (The available fields will depend on the lookup service you use.)
The accuracy of location results varies, but the country is usually reliable.
