The Plant Web Catalogue is the central reference for plant items and hire rates in Coins Plant Control, accessible from the Plant Control home page when configured in your environment. It can be used internally by procurement teams to browse items and rates, and externally via the Plant Portal for site users to request plant. Rates from the catalogue feed into hire charge calculations, plant purchase orders, and contract plant charge creation.
Add items to the basket
Click Plant Web Catalogue on the Plant Control home page.
Select the Groups tab and click a group to view its items, or use the Search bar to find an item directly.
Click View next to the item you want to request.
Enter the Quantity, Required From date, Expected Off Hire Date, and Responsible Person.
Select the Customer Type and enter the Company, Contract, Charge Centre, Address Code, and Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) code.
Click OK.
The item appears in the View Basket.
Check out and submit the request
Review the items in the View Basket tab and click Checkout.
Enter the Company, Contract, Charge Centre, Address Code, WBS Code, Depot, and Site.
Click OK.
A confirmation message displays with the plant request number.
Process the request in Hire Desk
Go to Plant Control > Hire Desk > Pending Hires.
Select the requisition line and click Process Entire Requisition from the action bar.
Click the transaction number to open the Process Pending Hires screen.
Allocate an asset and create the dispatch
📌Note: These steps cover a direct dispatch. If the asset is a rehire, select the Rehire tab instead and follow the rehire process.
Select the Available Assets tab.
Select the asset you want to allocate and click Allocate Asset.
Click Create Confirmed Dispatches & POs to create and confirm the dispatch, or click Create Dispatches & POs to create it and confirm separately.
A Dispatch Acknowledgement screen confirms the dispatch and purchase order numbers.
The confirmed dispatch is visible in Hire Desk > Existing Hires. Follow the normal hire charge process to run and post hire charges.
