Overview
Photo Timestamp & Location Tagging automatically stamps visit photos with the date, time, and GPS location of when the photo was taken. This applies whether the photo is taken directly through the app's camera or uploaded from the camera roll, giving technicians and the back office a reliable, verifiable record of exactly when and where each photo was captured. This is available for iOS devices.
Before You Start
Before using this feature, the following setup is required:
Mobile Configuration (ERP+)
The following three mobile parameters must be enabled (Y) to support this feature:
SESTAMPPHOTO - Turn the photo date & time stamping feature ON/OFF.
SESTAMPPHOTOGPS - Add GPS coordinates to photo stamping feature.
SEEXIFPHOTOGPS - Save GPS, date & time photo meta data (preserve meta data if photo taken externally).
Device Location Services
Location Services must be enabled for the mTech app on the technician's device. This is what allows GPS coordinates to be captured and stamped onto visit photos. On iOS, this is set to Always or While using the App under Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services > Mobile Tech > with Precise Location turned on.

How It Works
Step 1: Attach a photo during a visit. From within a visit in mTech, you can attach a photo either by taking it directly with the device camera or by uploading an existing photo from the camera roll.
Step 2: The photo is automatically stamped. The photo is automatically stamped with the date, time, and GPS location of when it was taken. This happens without any extra action required. If a photo is uploaded from the camera roll rather than taken in the moment, the stamp reflects the original date, time, and location the photo was actually taken, not when it was uploaded.

Step 3: Save the photo and complete the visit. Save the photo and continue completing the visit as normal.
Step 4: The stamp carries through to the service report. If the photo is attached to the service report, the date, time, and GPS location stamp remains visible on the image within the report.
