If a Coins ERP+ desktop has been set up for you and if you have the necessary permissions, you can maintain the content and appearance of your desktop. You can change:
The background image.
The tabs and sections.
The tiles on a section.
Which section a tile is on.
And you can add a tile from the History menu.
If you make changes to your Desktop, they will be visible next time you log in or when you refresh the Desktop. To refresh the Desktop, click the logo in the top left corner. If you refresh the Desktop, you will lose any open frames.
To change the background image:
Click your name or user image.
In the user menu, click
to display User Preferences.
Click the Preferences tab.
Click Open (
).
In the Desktop Image field, select the image you want from the drop-down list.
Click Save (
).
To add tabs and sections:
Click your name or user image.
In the user menu, click
to display User Preferences.
Click the Desktop tab.
This shows the tabs and sections that have already been set up.

You can have up to five tabs, and each tab can contain up to five sections.
Type the names you want to appear on the tabs and sections.

If some tab names or section names are grayed out, this means you are not the owner of those tabs or sections, and cannot update them.
Click Save (
).
To move or delete tabs or sections:
Click your name or user image.
In the user menu, click
to display User Preferences.
Click the Desktop tab.
Click the link on the Tabs label to rearrange the tabs, or the link on one of the tab names to rearrange the sections on that tab.
Coins ERP+ opens the Desktop Tab Maintenance screen, or the Desktop Section Maintenance screen, in a new frame.
Use the Move Up (
) and Move Down (
) buttons to rearrange the tabs or sections. You can also delete tabs or sections, or add standard menus.
Click Save (
).
Coins ERP+ closes the frame and refreshes the User Preferences screen to show your changes.
To add or change tiles on a section:
Either:
Click your name or user image.
In the user menu, click
to display User Preferences.
Click the Desktop tab.
Click the link on the name of the sections whose tiles you want to modify.
or:
On the desktop, press Ctrl+Shift and click the title of the section.
This only works if there is more than one section on the tab.
Coins ERP+ displays the Desktop Item Maintenance screen for that section.
To add a new tile, click Add (
). To change an existing tile, click Open (
).
Desktop Item Maintenance
You can add or change the Coins ERP+ function that the tile runs.
You can use the Row and Group fields to control how the tiles are laid out.
If an item has a different Row code from the item before it, it will be displayed on a new row.
On a v12.02 style desktop, items that have the same Group code are displayed as separate values on the same tile. On a Legacy style desktop, items that have the same Group code will be displayed in a single column.
Make any additional changes to the way the tile is displayed (refer to the details below).
Click Save (
).
To change the way a tile is displayed:
Press Ctrl+Shift and click the tile to display the Tile Maintenance frame.
This only works on some types of tile. You can also use Desktop Item Maintenance to change tiles (see To add or change tiles on a section:).
Tile Maintenance
If you have edit permissions, there is an Update Tile checkbox at the top of the frame.
If you leave this unchecked, or if it not present, changes you make to the tile only apply to you.
If you check this, you can update additional properties of the tile, and changes you make to the tile also apply to other users who have the same desktop.
Make your changes. For each tile, you can specify the following:
Title | The description to display on the tile. If blank, the tile shows the standard context description. (Only available if Update Tile is checked.) |
Override | Whether to override the subtitle of the tile. If this is not checked, the module the function belongs to is used as the subtitle. (Only available if Update Tile is checked.) |
Subtitle | The subtitle to display on the tile. If blank (and if Override is checked), the subtitle is blank. (Only available if Update Tile is checked.) |
Size | The size of the tile. For more information about tile sizes. (Only available if Update Tile is checked.) |

How to run the function:

Text |
The color of the text on the tile. This only applies to ‘old style’ desktops. You can use the color picker to choose a color, or you can enter a hexadecimal color code directly.
You can also use color ranges, to display different colors based on the value being displayed. If this is blank, the text is black.

Color | The color of the value, or the alert icon on an alert tile, or the colored dot on a group tile. You can use the color picker or enter a hexadecimal code. On ‘old style’ desktops, this is the color of the tile background. If this is blank, the tile background is white. |
Icon | The alert icon to display on an alert tile. If this is blank, a colored circle is shown. On ‘old style’ desktops, this is the icon to display on the tile. If this is blank, the default icon, which is based on the category of the function, is shown. (Only available if Update Tile is checked.) |
Options | Additional options for the page that opens when the tile is clicked. These may be set up by your system administrator and will depend on the function that the tile runs. |
Values | If the function has been written to allow data to be displayed on the tile, this allows you to select which data to show. |
Click Save (

To move tiles between sections:
Click your name or user image.
In the user menu, click
to display User Preferences.
Click the Desktop tab.
Click the link on the name of the section you want to move the tile from.
Coins ERP+ displays the Desktop Item Maintenance screen for that section.
Select the rows for the tiles you want to move.
In the action menu, choose Move Item and click Apply Action (
).
Select the section you want to move the tile or tiles to.
Click Next (
).
You can't move whole sections or tabs, but you can achieve the same effect by moving all the tiles from one section or tab to another, and renaming the section or tab .
To add a tile from the History menu:
Hold the pointer over the
icon.
On the History menu, click
(Legacy style) or
v12.02 style) next to the function you want to add to your desktop.Coins ERP+ displays an "Add to Desktop" dialog box.

In the other fields, choose how you want the tile to be displayed (for example, the title, colors and size).
